Illustrations
My illustrations are visual worlds conceived as sensitive spaces.
They are inspired by nature, travel and memory, and take the form of real or imagined landscapes, often inhabited by plants and animals.
They aim to create a sense of connection:
A connection to the environment, to emotions and to imagination.
Blue is a central element in my work. It structures the image, creates light and depth, and shapes the overall atmosphere.
The creative process begins with a spontaneous pencil gesture, used to establish the composition.
The illustration then develops gradually on the page, without a fixed idea from the start. Water plays an essential role: it brings atmosphere, contrast and form, at the heart of watercolor and gouache.
The work unfolds in a slow rhythm, through several stages and pauses that allow the image to grow.
My illustrations are directly nourished by my lived experience and the places I inhabit and travel through — aquatic worlds, sea, mountains, forests and tropics — and become sensitive traces of my world
